Sportsmanship

At AZ Compass, we believe that good sportsmanship embodies true values on and off the playing field. Whether on the field, court, or track, athletes are expected to show respect for their teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials. Sportsmanship means playing fair, staying humble in victory, and showing grace in defeat. It’s about giving your best effort while also supporting others and representing your school with pride.

Athletics offer a unique opportunity to build character, and sportsmanship is a key part of that growth. We encourage our athletes to lead by example, demonstrating integrity and responsibility both during competition and in everyday life. Cheering for your team is great—but respecting the game and everyone involved makes you a true competitor.

We expect our student-athletes, coaches, and parents to uphold these values at all times. By fostering a positive and respectful environment, we ensure that athletics remain a rewarding and enriching experience for everyone involved. Remember, how we play the game is just as important as the final score.
