A message from eSports Coach Meagan Biermann, coach of the eDragons and also the CAA eSports Commissioner...

This school year marks the 2nd year for eSports at AZ Compass as the eDragons. I have been coaching eSports for 8 years and brought it with me when I came here 3 years ago. The popularity of video games has increased the competitive gaming side. Teams can make millions of dollars in completive gaming these days. Colleges have noticed and many universities/colleges now offer either partial or full scholarships in esports. We compete 5th -12 grade thru CAA. 5-8 competes Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 on the Nintendo Switch. 7-12 compete in Super Smash Brothers on the Nintendo Switch and Madden 25 on a gaming laptop. We also compete Rocket League on Gaming Laptops.

The program's aim is to help students develop good gaming habits. If we can send a few to college also that would be a bonus. We haven't won any awards yet but this season of Madden 25 is looking very promising. We had the Madden Cruiser in conjunction with the Az Cardinals, EA Sports, and PlayVS here Saturday November 2, 2024. The pictures below are from that day.
